Why our raw dog & cat food?
Our variety of complete and complementary raw foods for dogs and cats from PaleoPet Pure are made only from the freshest, free range, human food grade ingredients in an environmentally responsible manner and following sustainable practices (DAFF and FSA proven). All the meat products are locally sourced ensuring complete traceability from farm to finished product and it is currently the only raw dog food manufacturer in SA that is food safety certified (sourcing from regulated suppliers, full annual audits, and traceability from farm to finished product). No heads, feet, intestines or other things you would not normally find in the grocery store are used.
The range we stock is based on the principles of the BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Dog Food) diet, and the products are registered in terms of Act 36 of 1947.
PaleoPet Pure started about 20 years ago experimenting with Ian Billinghurst’s BARF diet and after much research the formulas were developed with the help of one of Johannesburg’s leading veterinary physicians, to deliver a balance of proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. They vary somewhat from the traditional BARF formulas, but essentially encompass the same principles.
The Complete Meal range is formulated to be just that – complete – meaning that you could feed your pet nothing else but the meal and it would be sufficient to deliver everything they naturally need. Any supplements added are only pharmaceutical grade – no animal or veterinary grade ingredients are used. No additives are added or synthetic vitamin packs. All of our Classic Complete Meals contain Phytoplankton based DHA for Omega 3 and Wild Harvested Sea Kelp (Ascophyllum Nosodum).
You will see improvements in the appearance of their coats, eyes and teeth, an increase in their energy and the elimination of some ailments.
The Dog Classic and THERAWPY Complete Meals and Complementary 100% Minces are available in three easy to use tub sizes:
- 1.2 Kg. tub contains 12 individually wrapped 100g patties that can be defrosted one at a time, ideal for smaller dogs.
- 1,5 Kg. pack made up of two 750 gram tubs, ideal for feeding a medium sized dog or a few small dogs.
- 1,5 Kg. tub, ideal for feeding larger dogs or many dogs.
- 1.2 Kg. tub contains 12 individually wrapped 100g patties that can be defrosted one at a time.
